Vinturi Essential Wine Aerator
From Vinturi
Aerate wine in seconds for better taste. The Vinturi Wine Aerator is clearly on the cutting edge of wine aerating. Mixing just the right amount of air with your wine at the precise moments, this see-through aerator allows your reds or whites to breathe instantly. The Vinturi Wine Aerator results are a better bouquet, enhanced flavor, and a smoother finish. Perfect aeration in the time it takes to pour a glass. Couldn’t be easier. Comes with a no-drip stand and a travel pouch. Acrylic. Aerator and stand are dishwasher safe. Travel pouch is machine washable. Size: 6″H x 2″ Dia.
This is an outstanding device. It adds O2 to red wine making the need to “let it breath” unnecessary. I tried it on some sub par vintages and it amped up the taste markedly. This is required equipment for red wine lovers.
I was introduced to the Vinturi Aerator while visiting friends in Colorado last month. I ordered one on line to see if I really could tell the difference between aerated wine and non-aerated wine. The difference is quite pronounced, especially in red wines. The wine aerator has become a permanent fixture in our home and it is used almost daily. Although the instructions say the aerator can be washed in the dishwasher, I do not find this necessary. I rinse it in hot water after it has been used and I let it air dry before putting it away.

Salton YM9 1-Quart Yogurt Maker
From Salton
Salton Automatic Yogurt Maker Features & Specifications Automatic Yogurt Maker – Salton YM9 The Salton YM9 Yogurt Maker is a simple, easy to use, small and quick yogurt maker!nbsp It just takes 4-10 hours to make (depending on the desired tartness).nbsp For frozen yogurt a few extra hours are required.nbsp Yogurt is a great healthy snack for the entire family!nbsp Use the handy recipe book which is included for even more fresh yogurt ideas.nbsp Features of the Salton Yogurt Maker: Makes up to 1 quart Temperature controlled Power cord storage Internal container is freezer safe See-through lid Clean container and lid with hot soapy water, base with warm cloth Comes with Recipe book Measuring spoon Cord storage
I love homemade yogurt, and so do my young kids. I have made it by using an oven, a warming plate, and the other “free” methods. This is so much easier and reliable – it was worth the expense. I get consistently delicious yogurt. My only suggestion is to only keep it in the yogurt maker for 3 hours after proper preparation. Most recipes say 4 hours or more, but this always gave me lumpy yogurt. If you haven’t tried it, we love yogurt mixed with some jam – just like “fruit on the bottom”.
This yogurt is amazing! I let my first batch process the 4-hour minimum using organic, whole milk and one container of organic blueberry yogurt (no powdered milk). When it was done, I added 1/2 tsp. of vanilla and my two little ones loved it! I plan to use vanilla soymilk next time and freeze some. I wish I would’ve discovered this product years ago!

I owned my first soybean milk maker by Sunpentown for more than 10 years and loved it very much. This time I needed a new one, so I researched a quite bit to see if other makers were catching up with Sunpentown and had anything better. Eventually I still decided to stay with Sunpentown and bought this model.
Sunpentown is a great product. I owned SoyaJoy, also a great product, but it failed after 15 months of one batch a day usage. But I think I had my money worth on SoyaJoy. I used to make soy milk manually (blender or grinder, cheesecloth filter, oven top cooking, and then cleaning afterwards), and that is what you call labor intensive. With these modern automatic soy milk makers, life is a lot easier. Sunpentown soy milk maker produces better soy milk than most of other similar makers out there, because its filter basket has finer holes that keeps most of the grainy stuff out of the milk, so the milk taste very similar to the milk I manually made. Cleaning Sunpentown is also easier than most of other makers, because of the heating element is actually attached to the milk container, instead of attaching to the head unit (grinding motor) which is always in the way when cleaning the unit head, not to mention it adds weight to the head also. Just be very careful the blades are really sharp. Follow the instruction carefully, and you will enjoy using this soy milk maker.

Kalorik 1450-Watt 4-Slice Toaster, Stainless Steel
From Kalorik
Four slice toaster with simple-to-use shade selector with five browning settings. Extra-wide four-slice toaster with self-adjusting guides hold a wide variety of bread types and sizes – toasts consistently every time.Electronic controls with three LED lights make it easy to toast bagels, breads or favorite waffles and pastries, right out of the freezer. Cancel button stops toasting at any time. Durable stainless steel construction will enrich any kitchen decor.
I have looked and shopped everywhere trying to find the perfect stainless toaster to match all my other appliances. This toaster looks and works great. The extra wide slots are perfect for bagels. I would highly recommend this product.
but this is the best toaster I have ever owned! I’ve found the toasting capabilities superior to just about every other one I’ve had, even on a par with the older style GE-type toasters that were as solid as a rock. The slots are wide enough to accept bagels, but clamp in when single bread slices are inserted. Once you get the toaster settings correct – after some experimentation – you know exactly what you’ll get and when you’ll get it. We do toast, bagels, toaster strudel, etc. and with the correct choice (it also offers a “Defrost” option!), everything is done to perfection.

Cuisinart CSB-33 QuikPrep Hand Blender
From Cuisinart
The Cuisinart CSB-33 is a versatile tool that blends, mixes, emulsifies, whips, minces, and purees – and it’s equally handy in the kitchen! When a stand blender or food processor seems like overkill, that’s the CSB-33’s moment to shine. Extra long cord 18 Month Limited Cuisinart Warranty Contoured styling in white.
I had this hand blender when it came with the stainless steel beaker cup (which I did keep), the plastic beaker, lid, chopper & 3 blades. I loved all the gadgets & gizmos it came with. It was very nice to start, but once I started chopping fresh fruits…BOOM! –Sounded like a gun went off! It died. Maybe they are different now? hmmm…sounds like the motor hasn’t improved too much though.
Having been a long time user of a similar product (Moulinex Turbo) for 8 years, my old unit had seen better days and was in need of replacing. So, I made some assumptions about the product based on my experience with my other Cuisinart products and purchased the CSB-33 QuikPrep Hand Blender. Much to my dismay, the Cuisinart hand blender performs nowhere nearly as well as the Moulinex did the day I threw it away. The Cuisinart has a blade that is not sharpened. Consequently, it doesn’t cut up food (like blueberries, for instance) very well. It just sort of beats stuff to a pulp, quite literally, and doesn’t puree them into liquid. It also has a system of holes around the perimeter of the blade guard that just get clogged up.
